After significant success as a result of winning the 2010 remix contest of Cid Inc's "Filaments" on Replug, Juan Deminicis first presented his "Outstanding" track as part of the 2012 Winter Particles compilation. With its sublime groove and haunting melodic elements, it was little wonder that it achieved number 1 status in Beatport's Must-Hear Progressive chart while receiving support from Ad Brown, Embliss and James Warren. Now, "Outstanding" receives a much deserved full release with remixes by Posion Pro and Asten.
With tracks playlisted by heavyweight trance DJs: Ferry Corsten, Lange, Judge Jules and Solar Stone for his work in the 2007 and 2008, Andrew L began switching to a deeper underground sound in 2009 which led him to write and produce under the Poison Pro guise. His smash hit "Alien" for Proton Music has seen a plethora of remixes from the likes of Fiord, Kobana, Tvadovsky and Shingo Nakamura with a final installment set to follow. Andrew's Poison Pro remix of "Outstanding" defines the deep underground sound he has studiously developed with his pulsating bass line layered with ethereal textures and heavy beats.
Muscovite, Asten has had a string of releases since 2010 on Silk, Baroque and, most recently, on Round Triangle. His recent work for Festival Lounge in the early summer of 2012 has also seen him remixed by David Granha and Ilya Malyuev. Furthermore, in addition to his production work, Asten also runs the "Aura" music label under Proton which saw its first release in March of this year. Here, Asten's remix of "Outstanding" is a trademark affair with cascading riffs hypnotically firing to-and-fro across the stereo spectrum, interplaying with alternating melodic layers and a sizzling, crackling percussive background.
With two wonderful interpretations, Juan Deminicis has been treated to an "Outstanding" new lease of life.
