Release Description:
For Silk Sofa's 34th release, a new addition to the label is showcased: Finnish artist Epexor, with his track "Triphoppin'". Two of the label's established artists provide remixes: Gridlocked (UK) and Blue Neptune (Canada). The original mix begins with a rather intriguing atmosphere, accompanied by a fascinating breakbeat with unique percussion elements. Soon, a deep bassline emerges, and together with the exotic and melodic synth stabs, a blissful soundscape is created. At the 3-minute mark, the addition of a beautiful piano melody tops things off.
Gridlocked, the English Silk Sofa veteran, graces us with his variation of "Triphoppin'". A mesmerizing breakbeat is quickly established, and the surrounding atmosphere is firmly created as well. The piano melody in the break is a unique addition, and the overwhelming sounds of the many string layers combine to provide this track with even more delightful textures.
Canadian artist Blue Neptune, who is already a fixture on the label, provides us with a more ambient version. Smooth pad layers and hypnotizing samples create a gorgeous atmosphere, and a soft breakbeat is gently introduced to the mix. An incredibly groovy bassline emerges, and around the middle mark, a gorgeous delayed synth appears, leaving the track in a level of pure beauty.
